    Description

    Very nice set of Casey's Infantry Tactics, Volumes II and III, owned by Civil War Major/Reverend Arthur Deering of The 32nd Maine Infantry. Deering was originally with the 24th Maine but received a promotion to major during the war and joined The 32nd Maine. This set is in very good condition. Deering inscribed both copies signing his name and the unit he was with. He also penciled in where he was promoted and then in ink marked the unit name. Both copies are solid and complete. The binding is solid on both as are the covers. Some diagram pages have browned on the edges which is typical. Deering's personal library tag in each book with his name. A very nice set from this Civil War officer of Maine.
