A common problem with all players is that a layer of dust builds up on the lens of the laser, thus preventing the player from reading the disc, this causes the disc to 'jump' or 'freeze' - in extreme circumstances the player can't even recognize that a disc is there at all.
Prevention is better than cure, and as such most manufacturers recommend that the lens is cleaned at least once a month.
This cleaner will get the most stubborn residue off the lens due to its unusual wet cleaning system - most cleaners are dry only.
Look after your expensive equipment - maintenance is cheaper than repair.
