VERY OLD
and have wear; I try to cover the book's worse faults, but almost always there are some spots/ staining both inside and out, usually a few rips [excessive rips or large rips will be mentioned], some page folds /bumping, and tips and spine ends worn to varying degrees. If the inside hinges were cracked, I glue the paper part  back down as best I can [sometimes there are only pieces to glue back, and sometimes someone inexperienced has done a poor job - if this is the case - I do mention it]. Hinges and joints are reinforced if needed, this too will be mentioned. Unless otherwise stated, I try to repair all rips with documentary tape, sometimes I do miss a rip or 2, or other small things.
Very good- excellent condition for its age

Text and boards very secure. Pages are all clean - free of rips, writing, or spots.  Some very light wear to the tips and spine ends. Back cover looks good too.  Anything I missed must be very small.
Remember -
when opening an old book, always have the front cover supported! It's best to
place the whole book on a soft pillow,
one that the spine can sink into.

this book is very old and
may have accumulated bad smells along the way [musty basement/ mildew/ smoke]
- I have found that
dryer sheets in them for a few months makes a world of difference!
some of my books get sold right away so
please consider using this trick before deciding to return it!
My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
As far as I can tell -this book does not  smell.
