- starts with the political convention in 1860, preliminary rebellious movements, assembling of congress, & the President's message, and ends with prisoners, benevolent operations during the war, re-adjustment of national affairs, & conclusion. Includes battles, maps, leaders, hospitals, forts, camps, headquarters,
ships, uniforms, weapons, bridges and roads, towns, ruins, & much more!

. all of my books are VERY OLD and have 100+ years of wear to varying degrees
very good  to excellent condition.... for its age:
boards -
very secure, a few very light & thin wrinkles to the back cover - if you need a picture, just send me a note - otherwise it looks as good as the front cover
/ front cover looks a bit better in person
textblock
- pages very secure, tightly bound!
outer joints
-  pretty good, the front one is just starting to crack, back 1 is just starting to split about 3" worth
spine
- very good - very small amount of wear to the top / gilt lettering starting to fade
tips
- very good - a bit worn through & touched up
inner hinges
-  good, both with newer black cloth tape to help support the covers
pages
- generally
very clean
, thin light stain to a few of the steel engravings on the Union Generals plus to a few other leaves - maybe 15, just the 1st few
writing
- none
rips /folds
- apx 5 very small rips that I saw, including a 2" tear on the 1st title page near the gutter - 2 small folds plus a few wee-tip corners /
one of the illustration pages has been trimmed [ see picture #11]. the 2 free end papers & the 1st title page all have a small quarter size hole near the bottom gutter - 1 ffep & the title page have a very good patch job - see picture #12]
other:
- There is
no frontis to the 1st title page
, 2nd title page has a frontis of Lincoln.

some of my books get sold right away so

My nose doesn't work like it use to
so the old book smell doesn't bother me.
