    Description

Entitled "Memoirs of J. M. Gibson," this is a very hard to find first-person account of the "Terrors of the Civil War and Reconstruction Days" written by J. M. Gibson in 1929 and published by J. G. Alverson in 1966. Covers are brown cloth, binding is strong, text has many miscellaneous notes and underlining scattered about on various pages. The prior owner also added a hand-written "index" on the last free endpaper. 108 pages, 6" X 9".
This is one of the most interesting accounts of life in Vicksburg before, during and after the War that you will ever read.
