This is a great book - rare & hard to find NEW and signed by the author - this excellent book on the legendary siege of the Confederate defensive work known as Battery Wagner is now sadly out of print. This battery was one of the key defense works defending the approach to Charleston, South Carolina. The men of Battery Wagner withstood a 58 day siege by Union Forces. They endured an overwhelming nearly constant bombardment by the Union Navy, two infantry assaults (including the 54th Massachusetts portrayed in the famous Civil War film - Glory), and constant cannon fire assaults by Union land based artillery. The book is hardcover and titled "BATTERY WAGNER - THE SIEGE / THE MEN WHO FOUGHT AND THE CASUALTIES" by Timothy E. Bradshaw Jr. The book has 250 pages of great reading, battlefield casualty lists, maps, and great rare Civil War era photograph illustrations. The book is NEW & UNREAD - it has been signed by the author - it is also a generic signature and notation with no specific named individual making this even a more desirable signed copy! The book is as pictured. A great book - AUTHOR SIGNED - the definitive work on the Civil War siege of Battery Wagner in South Carolina - a hard to find, out of print book. Shipping via U.S. Postal Media Mail is .95 and includes US Postal Tracking. Thanks for looking!
