19th Century Royal Vienna Style Hand Painted Courting Couple Raised Gold PlateVery pretty porcelain dinner sized cabinet plate. Decorated in the Royal Vienna style with a hand painted courting couple int he center. The man is sitting on a stone wall in front of trees and a castle. The scene is framed in a gold gilt square with raised gold triangles and diagonal lines. With pink around the square with gold gilt floral scrollwork designs. Has gold gilding with raised geometric designs along the inner rim. Has a yellow border with chocolate brown, red and pink panels framed in gold gilding. The brown panels have blue, green, orange, and light purple floral scrollwork. The red panels have a yellow, gold beaded, and blue diamond with a raised gold floral design in the center and small white beading. The pink panels have a brown medallion with a raised white enamel floral design framed in gold beading, with small gold stars and dots over the pink. With a row of gold gilt lines and beading over the yellow portions. Has a partially impressed F 74 mark used by Fraureuth between 1865 and 1896. Also has an overglaze pseudo Royal Vienna blue beehive/shield mark. Probably decorated in Austria or Germany/Bavaria during the late 19th century or early 20th century, prior to 1918.
Has some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 9 1/4 inches wide.
