    1893 dated, booklet
    WAR PAPER NO. 12. COMMANDERY of the STATE of CALIFORNIA MILITARY ORDER of the LOYAL LEGION of the UNITED STATES
    titled "LOYAL CALIFORNIANS of 1861".  A paper prepared and read before the Society of California Volunteers in San Francisco, Cal. on January 31st, 1893, by Hugh A. Forley, Capt. 1st California Volunteer Infantry.  The paper also discusses the capture and fate of Daniel Showalter and his Confederate Comrades.  Showalter was a Secessionist, a California miner and State Legislator, who voted against California's resolution to stay within the Union.  It is 15 pages in total, all original, in excellent condition.  A great piece of California history, worthy of any collection.
